About the project

AR4STEM responded to rapid technological change and the COVID-19 shift toward online and distance learning. The source frames augmented reality as a tool for modernising STEM learning, supporting teacher digital competences and encouraging gender equality in STEM. The public record connects this work to STEM teachers and school personnel, Students and young people interested in AR-supported STEM and Career consultants and educators promoting girls in STEM, where STEM / STEAM, Digital learning and Entrepreneurship need to become understandable, motivating and practical for real learning settings.

The project objective was to promote augmented reality for teachers as an innovative digital tool that can transform traditional STEM learning into a more interactive experience. It also explicitly addressed the visibility of female role models and girls' engagement in STEM. The activity record covers Develop 16 STEM lesson plans and AR-enabled materials, Create a guidebook on using augmented reality in STEM education and Develop a motivational programme for girls in STEM. The project developed outputs such as 16 interactive educational STEM materials with AR features, Teacher guidebook on AR in STEM education and Motivational programme promoting girls' STEM engagement, with results presented here only where they are supported by the local source record.
